Joel P. Wills, 75, expired at 11:45 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arminta Hutchinson, 704 Wayne Avenue of a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for four years and the past three months had been seriously ill.  

Mr. Wills was born in Nicholas Co W Va July 19, 1863, the son of Mahlon H. and Louisa Skaggs Wills.  On Aug 7, 1888 he married Frances C. Ramsey who died in 1924.  He moved to Montgomery County immediately after his marriage living near Waynetown and since the death of his wife had made his home with his sons and daughters.  He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church.

Surviving besides Mrs. Hutchinson are five sons: Wilbert, Lloyd and Ray Wills, Crawfordsville, James Wills, RFD 4, Crawfordsville and Eli Wills near Waynetown; two daughters, Mrs. Lalah Slaves and Mrs. Thursa Gentry both of RFD 4, Crawfordsville; two brothers, Simeron Wills, Terre Haute and Fletcher Wills, San Francisco; one sister, Mrs. Ermine Sawyers, Summersville, W Va; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Zion Church three miles west of here, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Rev. John Servies will have charge and will be assisted by Rev CL Rousch.  Burial will be made at the Waynetown Masonic cemetery. The family requests no flowers be sent.
